The lazy days of summer are here in Rincon, but we’ve also been getting what seems like an above average amount of rain the past few weeks. We all prepare for the summer afternoon showers, but usually that means it pours 2 – 4 and the rest of the day is sunny in the am and clear by sunset. But, whatever weather front was just passing through has been bringing full days of downpour. While this is awesome for my new flowerbed, it’s not so awesome for dogs and kids stuck in the house. In any effect, today was back to normal – nice and sunny, so we took advantage to roll down to the Rincon Balneario for a quick dip.
If you’re looking for directions to the Rincon Balneario (or public beach) – just look for the bronze surfer statue right next to the Lebanese Bakery (painted purple), on the 115 just South of the town plaza. Turn left here and go about 4 block and boom: you’re there. It’s a great swimming beach for kids, sandy bottom and almost always calm. You can walk from the balneario to the marina and back for a quick stroll.
